EVERY DOLLAR, ACCOUNTED FOR
Your portfolio starts as cash. Visit Build portfolio to add investments and build your mix.
A holding is an investment in your portfolio. $100 in Apple and $200 in a stock ETF are two holdings. Your remaining cash is part of the portfolio too.
A share is a small piece of a company or fund. This tool allows fractional shares: you can practise with part of a share. Units are a similar way to count crypto or the practice bonds. Your entered dollar amount is what counts toward your budget.
Allocation means how you split your money. If you put $250 of a $1,000 budget into one investment, its share of your portfolio is 25%.

SPREADING YOUR MONEY
Some ETFs own the same companies. For example, VFV and XAW both include U.S. companies, including Apple. Adding baskets doesn’t always mean adding different things. Spreading your money can reduce some risks, but you can still lose money.
WHAT IT COSTS
We estimate yearly costs using your ETF amounts and the fund fee rates we’ve checked. Fees we haven’t checked are left out, so $0 doesn’t mean every fund is free. This estimate isn’t taken from your budget. We assume no buying, selling, or currency-conversion fees. Cash earns no interest here.
